Log 3 – summarise your main project findings in 100 words or less, what do you think is the main benefit of your finding
The project aimed to identify what nutritional education is currently available to vocational dance students and professional dancers and how it could be delivered in the most appropriate format. The recommendations have identified alternative methods of delivering this education to those currently being employed. Interviews have identified how education has evolved over a number of years and how this is assimilated within the participants working lives. The aspirations of the organisation are not yet realised and the recommendations of the research project should provide them with a platform to deliver an improved programme of study. Secondary data has highlighted the dangers of poor nutrition on dancers which ultimately can lead to the cessation of their career.

I enjoyed reading the summary of your project. It is of great interest to me as a trained dancer who has struggled with being happy with my weight for many years. I had never thought of it, but during my time of training, there was very little information regarding nutrition at my performing arts college, despite this being vital to a healthy dancer.
Your project would prove for an interesting read by seeing what information is currently out there and, as you state, how this has evolved.

ReplyDeleteYour project summary reads very well. In spite of its 100 word limit I feel that it delivers a comprehensive overview of your project's aims, background and findings.
It is not easy to summarise a project that you have worked on for months to a reader that knows nothing of it, but you have managed to acheive clarity and accessibility in your writing.
I am very interested to learn about the alternative methods of nutrtional education that your research has found.
